One of the most common ways to guide visitors through your site is with links — and Frame gives you two main options for adding them to your pages.
Buttons vs In-Text Links
Buttons are the more visible choice. They stand out on the page, making them ideal for primary actions you want visitors to notice right away. If there's something important you want people to click, a button is usually the right tool.
In-text links are words or phrases within a paragraph that link to another page or resource. They're less prominent than buttons, but useful for naturally connecting related content mid-sentence. A school might link to an accrediting organization and a church could reference a scripture or resource on an external site within a devotional.
On Frame, both options pull their styling automatically from your site's brand settings, so your links and buttons will always match your site's colors without any extra effort. Customization for in-test links beyond defaults is limited, which we'll cover below.
How In-Text Links are Styled
In-text links are set to match the same color as other text, but are identified with an underline.
Additionally, when a user puts their cursor over the link, it will change colors to confirm that it is a clickable link. Before someone commits to clicking, the color change is a subtle signal that says "yes, this is a link."
The hover color for links is set to match your site's brand colors, so no additional effort is required to maintain a uniform look.
Can I Change How Links are Styled?
There are limited options for changing in-text links, however if you'd like more options for visual configurations for links, buttons offer many setting options to adjust their color, size and shape.
The hover color for links is set to the secondary color of your site's palette. This can be adjusted in the site editor. Note that this will also change the color for other elements across your site and caution should be used to ensure that content remains readable.
The automatic color for in-text links and the underline are built-in features of Frame themes to match standard user expectations and keep a clean, professional look across web text.
