Themes in Frame

Learn how to change your website’s appearance by switching between installed themes. This guide walks you through previewing, activating, and managing themes to customize the look and feel of your site.

Changing themes is only accessible to site admin users.

TL;DR

Go to Themes

Access Themes from the dashboard under Appearance.

Preview a New Theme

Click Live Preview to see what a theme switch would look like.

Activate New Theme
Hover over a theme and click Activate to switch.

Customize Your Theme
Press Customize to modify settings and view previews.

Let's Do It Together!

Step 1: Access Themes

  1. Go to your WordPress dashboard.

  2. Hover over Appearance and click on Themes.

Step 2: Preview New Theme

  1. In the Themes section, the black box designates the currently active theme.

  2. To preview another theme, click the Live Preview button underneath any of the non-active themes. Note that this will only show a preview for page content, not the menu or footer areas which will also be affected by theme changes.

Step 3: Activate New Theme

  1. Hover over the desired theme and click Activate.

The new theme will now be active on your site.

Step 4: Customize Themes

  1. Press the Customize button to modify the theme settings. Theme settings should be changed sparingly as some edits may prohibit security and improvement updates.
