Finding the Settings
Click on the Cover Slider block itself (not on individual covers inside it)
Look at the Settings panel on the right side
You'll see all available options listed under Settings
All Settings Explained
Auto-Height
What it does: Automatically adjusts the slider height to match the currently active slide. The height of each slide is controlled by its Cover block style. When disabled, all slides maintain the height of the tallest one.
Default: Off
When Auto-Height is ON:
The slider height changes as you navigate between slides
If you have some covers set to Default style and others set to Tall style, the slider will be taller when showing a Tall slide and shorter when showing a Default slide
Useful when you want each slide to fit its content snugly without extra space
When Auto-Height is OFF (default):
All slides display at the height of the tallest slide in your slider
The slider height never changes as you navigate
Creates a stable, predictable layout
Recommended for most websites
Important: Auto-Height is disabled in the editor but will work on your published site.
Related setting: See Cover Block Styles to understand how Default and Tall determine slide height.
Autoplay
What it does: Automatically advances slides without requiring user clicks.
Default: Off
How it works:
When enabled, slides automatically transition to the next one
Each slide displays for a set time (controlled by Autoplay Interval, see below)
After the last slide, the slider either stops or loops back to the first (depending on your Loop setting)
When to use it:
You want an automatic, hands-free rotating display
You're creating a promotional banner or announcement carousel
The slider is in a high-traffic area where movement attracts attention
Pairs with: Autoplay Interval (timing), Loop (whether it repeats)
Autoplay Interval
What it does: Controls how long each slide displays before automatically advancing to the next one.
Default: 9 seconds
Range: 1–12 seconds (you can adjust in 0.1-second increments)
When it matters:
Only appears when Autoplay is enabled
Higher values = longer display time per slide (good for content-heavy slides or reading text overlays)
Lower values = faster transitions (good for visual impact or quick scanning)
Example settings:
3 seconds — Quick, dynamic carousel (images only, minimal text)
5–7 seconds — Standard web carousel (allows time to read titles/captions)
9–12 seconds — Generous display time (for slides with substantial text content)
Transition Effect
What it does: Determines the visual animation that plays when moving from one slide to the next.
Default: Fade
Available options:
Fade
Slides dissolve into each other smoothly
Creates a calm, professional appearance
Best for: Formal announcements, worship services, professional content
Slide
Slides move horizontally across the screen
Creates a more dynamic, energetic feel
Best for: Event promotions, visual stories, congregational updates
Fade & Zoom
Combines fade with a subtle zoom effect
Creates a more eye-catching, modern appearance
Best for: Hero sliders, special announcements, seasonal promotions
Transition Speed
What it does: Controls how quickly the transition effect happens between slides.
Default: 1 second
Range: 0.1–12 seconds (adjustable in 0.1-second increments)
How it affects your slider:
Fast (0.1–0.5 seconds) = Snappy, responsive feeling (can feel jarring if too fast)
Standard (0.8–1.5 seconds) = Smooth and professional (recommended)
Slow (2–5 seconds) = Elegant, deliberate transitions (good for high-impact sliders)
Note: This is separate from Autoplay Interval. Transition Speed controls how fast the animation happens, while Autoplay Interval controls how long each slide displays.
Example: If Transition Speed is 1 second and Autoplay Interval is 9 seconds, each slide displays for 9 seconds total, and the fade/slide animation takes 1 second to complete.
Loop
What it does: Determines whether the slider repeats after the last slide.
Default: Off
How it works:
When OFF:
After the last slide, the slider stops
Navigation arrows become disabled on the last slide
Users can still manually click pagination dots to jump to any slide
When ON:
After the last slide, the slider automatically returns to the first slide
Navigation arrows remain clickable at all times
Creates a seamless, continuous carousel experience
When to use it:
ON: When Autoplay is enabled (creates smooth, continuous looping); when you want slides to cycle indefinitely
OFF: When you want a defined beginning and end; when slides represent a sequence or progression
Navigation
What it does: Shows or hides the left and right arrow buttons that let users manually advance slides.
Default: On
When ON:
Arrow buttons appear on both sides of the slider
Users can click arrows to move forward and backward
Arrows are disabled at the beginning (if Loop is off) and end (if Loop is off)
When OFF:
No arrows are visible
Users can only navigate using pagination dots (if enabled) or autoplay
When to use it:
ON (recommended): Most websites use arrows; visitors expect them
OFF: For minimalist designs or when using pagination dots only
Pagination
What it does: Shows or hides the dot buttons at the bottom of the slider.
Default: On
How it works:
When ON: Dots appear below the slider (one per slide)
Users can click any dot to jump directly to that slide
Dots help users understand how many slides exist and which one is active
When OFF:
No dots are visible
Users rely on arrows or autoplay to navigate
When to use it:
ON (recommended): Helps users understand the slider's length and current position
OFF: For minimalist designs or if you have many slides (15+) where dots would overcrowd the design
Common Scenarios & Recommended Settings

Navigation: ON
Pagination: ON
Then: Set some covers to Default style and others to Tall style to see Auto-Height in action
Troubleshooting
Images appear cropped or cut off
This is the expected behavior of cover blocks. Images fill the container's width and height while maintaining their aspect ratio, so excess width or height is cropped. To minimize cropping, use images with an aspect ratio that matches your cover style. See Cover Block Styles for more information.
Auto-Height doesn't seem to do anything
Auto-Height only produces visible changes if your covers have different styles (some set to Default, others to Tall). If all covers use the same style, they're already the same height, so Auto-Height has no visible effect. Try setting some covers to Default and others to Tall, then enable Auto-Height to see the difference.
The slider height shifts unexpectedly when navigating
If Auto-Height is ON and you have covers with different styles, this is expected behavior—the slider adjusts to fit each slide's height. If you want a stable height, turn Auto-Height OFF.
Arrows or dots aren't showing
Check the Navigation and Pagination settings. If either is OFF, those controls won't display. Turn them back ON to show arrows and/or dots.
Autoplay Interval setting is grayed out
The interval setting only appears when Autoplay is enabled. Turn on Autoplay first, then the interval setting will become available.
Slides don't loop back to the first one
Check your Loop setting. When Loop is OFF, the slider stops after the last slide. Turn Loop ON to enable continuous looping (works best with Autoplay enabled).
