Migration

Pre-Migration Checklist for Frame by Adventist Connect

As we prepare to transition from Adventist Church Connect (ACC) and Adventist School Connect (ASC) to Frame by Adventist Connect, it’s essential to take the following steps to ensure a smooth and successful migration. Failure to complete these steps may result in delays or disruption to your website during the transition process.

Mandatory Pre-Migration Steps

1. Update Your DNS Records (Required for Custom Domains)

If your church or school website uses a custom domain name (e.g., mychurch.org instead of mychurch.adventistchurchconnect.org or mychurch.adventistchurch.org or myschool.adventistschoolconnect.org), you must update your DNS records before migration.

What to Do:

Update your DNS records as soon as possible. Making the following changes now will not affect your current website in any way. However, updating early ensures a seamless transition when the migration begins, preventing downtime or delays. We strongly encourage domain admins to complete this step as soon as possible.

  • If you have a ACC/ASC supplied domain (e.g., mychurch.adventistchurch.org or myschool.adventistschoolconnect.org) then you don't need to worry about updating your DNS records.

  • Log into your domain host and change your Name Servers to point to these new values:

    • ns1.adventistconnect.org

    • ns2.adventistconnect.org

    • ns3.adventistconnect.org

    • ns4.adventistconnect.org

  • For advanced users, if you manage your own DNS, update your A record(s) to point to the new IP address: 160.238.31.236

    • This includes if you have a www record.

    • Ensure your AAAA records (IPv6) are removed to prevent connectivity issues.

Deadline: As soon as possible — Sites that do not update their DNS records will not migrate successfully.

2. Review & Update Website Site Users

Ensuring that only current and authorized individuals have administrative access to your website before migration is essential.

What to Do:

  • Log in to your existing website and navigate to the user management section.

  • Remove old or inactive users who no longer need access.

Why This Matters: Sites with outdated user information may experience delays in approving the migration to the new system.

3. Review & Clean Up Website Content

A migration is the perfect time to ensure your site contains only relevant and current information.

What to Do:

  • Remove outdated content such as announcements, event listings, and pages that are no longer needed.

  • Check for broken links and either update or remove them.

  • Review overall content to ensure a smooth transition to the new platform.

4. Stay Informed & Watch for Migration Updates

We will be sharing ongoing updates and details about the migration schedule.
