Handling Events Pages During Migration to Frame

Learn what happens to custom /events pages when migrating to Frame and how to properly manage your events content after the move.

Migration Notes on Events

When migrating a website from ACC or ASC to Frame, special care must be taken with any custom page using the URL path /events. Here's what you need to know:

What Happens During Migration?

  • If your original website included a custom /events page, it will still migrate into Frame.

  • However, The Events Calendar plugin in Frame automatically overrides any custom page at /events.

  • As a result, The Events Calendar’s event listings will now appear at /events, and your original custom page content will no longer be visible at that path.

  • When this happens, Frame displays an error message banner to notify administrators of the change (example shown below).

Expected Behavior

This behavior is normal and expected after migration.
The /events URL is reserved for displaying calendar-based event listings managed by The Events Calendar plugin.

Administrator Action Required

Site administrators should take the following steps:

  1. Review the content from your old custom /events page.

  2. Decide if that custom content needs to be preserved.

    • If so, create a new page (example: /special-events, /community-events, or /school-calendar).

  3. Move your custom content to the new page.

  4. Update any site navigation menus or internal links that previously pointed to /events so they now point to your new custom page.

  5. Use The Events Calendar for managing all future event postings at the /events path.
